Expecting A Baby?

Expecting A Baby?

You're having a baby! We're as excited as you are for The Big Day. This is a wonderful time in your journey to parenthood, and we are delighted that you are considering our personalized approach to your new baby’s health and well being. We encourage you to navigate through our website, look at the physician bios and our patient resources.

Choosing a pediatrician for your child’s healthcare is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make. If you would like to meet face to face with a physician here at the clinic or discuss your questions over video chat, we can schedule a prenatal appointment for you.

During the visit we will ask questions about your family and your pregnancy and offer you some guidance about the period before and during delivery. It is helpful to bring a list of questions you may have. The physicians prefer to schedule these visits first thing in the morning or just after lunch before seeing patients. The appointment lasts approximately 15-20 minutes and is complimentary.

Our physicians see newborn babies at Mount Sinai Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital/Holtz Children’s Hospital. We also maintain privileges at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Just let your obstetrician know that you have chosen our practice and the hospital will notify our office when your baby is born. One of our pediatricians will be in to see you and your baby within twenty-four hours of your delivery. If you are delivering somewhere else, please call us to set up your baby's first visit as soon as you are released from the hospital.

Billing & Insurance

Billing & Insurance

Insurance coverage can be very complicated and we make every effort to make it as easy for you as possible. We accept the following insurance plans. If you do not see your health insurance listed or are unsure whether we accept your insurance, please ask our office staff. For the listed insurance plans, our office will file claims for you. We are required to collect any co-pay or co-insurance at the time of service. For non-contracted insurance, we will expect payment in full at the time of service and we will provide a detailed claim for you to submit to your insurance company. If you currently do not have insurance or your insurance coverage cannot be verified, payment will be requested at the time of service.

Blue Cross Blue Shield
Cigna
Neighborhood Health
Aetna
Humana
Oxford Health Plans
AvMed
United Healthcare
And more...

Please be aware that some recommended services may not be covered by your insurance plan. If you consent and accept any service recommended by your doctor, payment is ultimately your responsibility, regardless what coverage your insurance provides. Please do not hesitate to contact our billing department with any questions regarding your bill.

We require all our patients to have a credit or debit card on file that will be encrypted and stored securely in a remote server. This card will be used to pay for any co-pays or coinsurance at time of check-in if your insurance requires it, the fee of your visit at check out if you have a high deductible insurance plan and you have not met your deductible, and the fee for your visit at check in or check out if you are paying cash and do not carry insurance. If you have a balance that you owe after we bill your insurance, or if there are uncovered services to which you have consented, your credit/debit card will automatically be charged the remaining balance.

It is our policy to collect certain information for billing purposes. Some of this information is personal and will be kept confidential.

Vaccine Policy

Vaccine Policy

We, the providers of Miami Pediatrics, are here to help protect your family from preventable diseases and catastrophic harm in a calm and comforting environment. We are a pro-vaccine practice and strongly believe in the proven safety and efficacy of childhood vaccines and support the much-studied schedule of childhood immunizations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

Because we are committed to protecting the health of your children through vaccination, we require all of our patients to be vaccinated. Effective January 1, 2023, we will no longer be able to see families who choose to refuse all vaccines for their children. While there is only one approved vaccine schedule, as provided by the CDC and endorsed by the AAP and we strongly discourage the splitting of vaccines, if parents/patients are demonstrating the intent to be fully vaccinated through a modified schedule, then they may continue to be patients of Miami Pediatrics. As a minimum standard, parents/patients must agree to receive the minimum vaccines required by the Florida Department of Health to attend school.

In addition, an AAP “Refusal to Vaccinate” form must still be signed for any CDC Category A vaccine refused, even if not included in the Vaccination Minimum Standard Policy. We also require that all newborns receive a vitamin K injection at birth in order to become a patient.

Thank you for taking the time to read this policy and for entrusting us with the care of your children.
